Touching My Shadow

2021
Text block images silkscreen printed, text letterpress printed, cover printed on the Charles Brand Press
using mono print and de-boss methods, spine hand-stitched and bound.

10.5” x 12 x ⅛”
Edition of 50.
Published in Rosendale, New York at Women’s Studio Workshop.

Drawing on the feeling of isolation brought on by the ongoing pandemic, a visual narrative is created exploring
how we can regain touch during a time when it is so heavily discouraged. In this book, shadows reclaim a physical presence,
questioning whether touching the shadow of something can be the same as touching the thing itself.
The hand-stitched pattern along the spine was designed by the artist, utilizing elements of traditional japanese stab binding techniques.
